Placentia – CA. With the warm southern California sun shining Orange County Rod & Custom Sounds opens it’s first shop in Placentia CA. In 1968, Lin Austin began the enterprise that was to become Orange County Rod & Customs. The business got its name from the Rods and Customs that have graced some of the most satisfied customers around the United States. As the years passed, Len’s love of hot rods and his enthusiasm for automobile high fidelity grew, he knew that adding the ‘Sounds’ to his Rod and Custom business was a given, and with his partnership with 12 Volt magazine guru Michael Griffin and Car Show Sage, Clifton Brown, his audio specialty business is complete.

We treat our customers like the friends they become."

Michael and Clifton are extremely excited about their entrance into the Southern California marketplace. The company’s store is designed for consumer comfort, with products displayed in a way that makes it easy to compare features and performance on top of being ultra modern in appearance.
