LA Car Show Reviews
Sunday, March 15th, 2009LA CA — Lights, Action, bring them in! Most would think of Hollywood, but if you were at the Los Angels Convention Center the 19th of August you would have witnessed the lights going down and the action hitting the isles during the most recent XM Satellite Radio’s Hot Import Nights (HIN) event. Everyone into the scene and them some made it out to see hundreds of the hottest show cars Southern California has to offer and to listen to the hot jams being spun by some of the coolest Dj’s around!
HIN, the nation’s largest lifestyle custom car show, had much to offer everyone who showed up, a special performance from Ak’Sent, an exclusive L.A. fashion show, a custom car challenge, hundreds of the nation’s hottest cars and the scenes top models were out all night.
Formula D and D1 drivers united to display top drifting cars, and top tuners from across the country had a battle to prove who is “The Best-of-the-Best” in the East Meets West car competition, I think the West kicked the East butt, but look out I think something is coming from NY City that will be hotter then some old salsa.
Shell Oil Products has teamed up with top import tuner Paul Ireson to complete his latest project, a customized Mini Cooper that made its debut appearance at the Los Angeles event. Not only does this custom Mini have a power-to-weight ratio comparable to a Formula One car, weighing a mere 1,800 lbs and boasting more than 1,100 HP, but its paint and interior were totally chill!
On the XM Satellite Radio Stage, local club DJs and b-boy groups competed for top accolades. On the Mazda stage, HIN’s Glo-Go dancers showed off their go-go skills against Los Angeles’s best dancers in the new Rockstar Energy Drink National Glo-Go Dancer Competition, a city-to-city dance rivalry.
